The Local Area
A world famous fishing village, Robin Hood's Bay is located on the North East coast of England, close to the fishing port of Whitby, at the foot of the North York Moors.  Its quaint, twisting streets remain largely unchanged since the time of James Cook, smugglers and press gangs.

The area is rightly famous for its spectacular landscapes, being the starting point for many walking holidays and the myriad trails offered by the nearby moorlands and old railway track.  The Bay is also part of the Cleveland Way, Lyke Wake Walk and Coast to Coast walks.

For those wishing to experience first-class shopping, the towns of Whitby and Scarborough are both within easy driving distance.  The world renowned city of York is a little further away (45 miles approx).

Robin Hood's Bay itself offers restaurants, public houses, galleries and shops plus many other tourist attractions.
